Eric approached me to create some labels for the curious libations he comes up with. The challenge would be to create a label system that could accommodate the three different types of cocktails he had planned initially, and any future ones he might concoct.
THE OLD FASHIONED
We started with the quintessential classic: the Old Fashioned. But Eric puts a sweet spin on his – he adds maple syrup and bitters, then ages it in oak barrels.
THE MANHATTAN
Ah, the Manhattan. For those with a little sophistication, and who need a little rye spice in their life. Eric’s Manhattan retains that welcomed twist – it’s aged in oak barrels after adding the vermouth. For those keeping track, that rye is twice barrel aged by the time it hits your tongue.
EGGNOG
I know what you’re thinking. No, this is not the type of libation that Cousin Eddy is dipping his moose glass into. This one is refined. It’s got nutmeg, cinnamon, and three different spirits – the spirits that shall remain nameless even to this humble narrator. In fact it sounds kinda like a Long Island eggnog – and I’d say its on the verge of being irresponsible. Maybe Cousin Eddy will try a glass after all…
